Trauma – a wound that you can heal at any time

Trauma is a psychological, emotional wound that hurts tremendously when you touch it.
It is not what is done to you from outside, but what happens within you as a result of external events. Trauma is the wound that the experience leaves behind. Gabor Maté knows: That’s a good thing! Because if the trauma is not what happened at some point, but the wound that we sustained, the wound can be healed at any time. Let’s find out: for example, if we experience trauma as a child, we disconnect from the experience to protect ourselves. This detachment usually causes noticeable mental and physical problems in later years – until we heal the wound. Why we as adults often pass on our own traumas to our children, how we can recognize and heal trauma in ourselves, why depression can be important teachers for us, why Western medicine still has a long way to go when it comes to trauma and most importantly how we can specifically take responsibility for our own traumas – Gabor Maté illuminates all of this and more in this video.

In this video you will find out…
  • what trauma really is
  • why the “scar tissue” of the trauma wound helps you heal
  • how to heal trauma
  • how to overcome depressive moods and find healing
  • in what form trauma manifests itself in adulthood and collective trauma
  • what Western medicine can still learn about trauma
  • how to take responsibility for your own trauma
  • how you can live authentically despite challenging external circumstances
